Beauty Abounds

Getting settled in to our new house in BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO! Score one for team Brandrea - we did it!

B and I drove separately from Oklahoma. The kitties rode with me and we stopped and stayed in a motel a little over 1/2 way to Breck. We got here around noon on my b-day. (FACT: we moved out of Tulsa house on B's b-day and into the Breck house on my b-day.)


Since here, we got a post office box, opened a joint bank account, and filled our fridge, freezer, and cabinets with groceries!


And so far, our roommates rock! We went to happy hour with Kara (she's a bartender at a local bar and gets us discounts!) and then hung out at the house after with both Kara and Ty. (short for Tyson - middle name passed down from great grandfather.) Ty works at a local ski shop and HE can also get us the hookup!

Today, we drove thru the White River National Forest. It was so amazingly beautiful!!! There isn't snow in town, but the roads up there are covered. We drove B's jeep up and down the mountains and thru the rivers.

I SO love Colorado!

Might I just say - hopefully without offending - that life without a job has been amazing! I have been quilting, and reading, and running, and making jewelry, cooking, and eating, and hanging with my mom.

I guess it has been about a month since I last worked. I am happy to announce that my creativity and love of life is slowly seeping back in. YAY!

The netbook that my mom bought me for my b-day should come in today, so perhaps I'll bring blogging in to my daily routine.

In the mean time, I need to get back to my quilting. I have set a lofty goal of finishing 5 quilts by Christmas. So far, I have one top done and am probably 1/4 finished with the second. I would post pictures, but I don't want the receivers' surprise to be spoiled.

Mom and I drive back to Tulsa tomorrow morning. I'll tie up a few loose ends on Friday and then devote Saturday to my family and friends. I'm really excited to have a family get together. It seems like it's been forever since we all hung out. We'll play cards and eat lunch. And then around 7:00, B and I will head out to Chimi's for my bday dinner with all my awesome friends.
